This is a sweet dessert originating from Thailand, it’s very popular and may be enjoyed warm or cold its best had with a cool iced tea.

Serves 1


Sweet rice

1 Tsp. of butter

3 Tbsp. of cooked Rice

½ cup of milk or coconut milk

A pinch of nutmeg

A pinch of cinnamon

A tsp. of sugar

Caramelized mango

¼ a mango

2 Tbsp. Castor sugar

½ cup of water

Toasted coconut


  1. Melt the butter on the pan.

  2. Add in the nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar as the butter melts.

  3. As the butter begins to brown, add in the milk.

  4. Once it begins to boil add in the cooked rice until the milk has been completely absorbed by the rice.

  5. Set aside the rice to cool.

  6. On a clean pan, caramelize the castor sugar using the water.

  7. Once caramel starts to form add in the mango and let it brown and caramelize as well.

  8. Garnish with toasted coconut.
