Fried fish with roasted arrowroot and a tangy sauce<span class=1 min read" />

Serves 3



250gm arrowroot


1 pc of tilapia fillet

2 Tbsps. Of soy sauce

1 lemon’s juice

2 cloves of garlic

Grated rind of 1 lemon

½ cup of cooking oil

3 Tbsps. of tamarind paste

2 Tbsps. of sugar


  1. Marinate the fish using the soy sauce, lemon juice, crushed garlic and lemon rind

  2. Roast the arrowroot using moderate heat, cook for about 1 hour.

  3. Fifteen to the arrowroots getting ready, shallow fry the fish using moderately hot oil.

  4. Once the fish is done, let it drip the oil.

  5. Simmer the tamarind paste over moderate heat; add sugar to your preference.

  6. Once the sauce is thick, let it cool down.

  7. Serve and garnish to your liking.
